Scott McKercher
January 5, 1983 – January 12, 2022
Our beloved son, Scott, unexpectedly passed away on January 13, 2022, at the age of 39. He is survived by his mother Debby, father Dave, sister Kim (Brodie), brothers Matt and Steve and his dog Vegas. He was a fun and caring uncle to his nephew Finlay and niece Summer.
Scott worked many years in construction as a Framer. He loved sports and was a talented athlete. In his youth he excelled at hockey, baseball and cross country running. In recent years, he could often be found at eighteen pastures golf course with his best friend, Tim, and brother Matt, and developed a deep love for the game of golf. Scott was also a gifted poker player, playing in a World Series tournament in Las Vegas.
He was a quiet man that not many got the honour to truly know. He was kind and generous and cared deeply for his family, friends, and pets. He took with him a piece of our hearts and will be deeply missed. Scott would not want anyone to suffer from his passing. To quote one of his favourite songs: “I hope you’re not lonely without me.” -Society, by Eddie Vedder
A celebration of life and memorial golf game will be held in March.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations made in Scott’s honour to the Canadian Mental Health Association: www.cmha.bc.ca
