Obituary of Terry Homme

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our dear mother Terry Homme after a second battle with cancer. Terry passed away peacefully at the McKenney Creek Hospice on Sunday, September 18, 2016 in Maple Ridge, BC at the age of 64 years. Terry is survived by her children Sandra (Tom), David (Lavonne) and Jeffrey (Lindsay), and her 12 grandchildren who were the joy of her life. Terry was born in Edmonton, Alberta and moved to Maple Ridge, BC to be near her grandchildren in 2007. She worked with special needs children for over 30 years, most recently at St. Patrick’s School. Her calling in life was to help, teach and encourage these children and through it she touched many lives and set an example for all of us. Terry also loved crafts, especially making hand-made cards that she enjoyed sharing with her family and friends. Terry was not only an example in life but also in death as she showed tremendous courage, grace and peace throughout her illness. She was looking forward to seeing the face of her Lord Jesus, the source of her strength. We would like to thank the amazing staff and volunteers at the McKenney Creek Hospice who as Mom put it “treated her like a queen”. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the St. Patrick’s School, Ridge Meadows Hospice Society or the Canadian Cancer Society. Prayers will be held at 6:30pm on Thursday, September 29, followed by the Funeral Mass on Friday, September 30 at 11:00am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 22561 121 Ave, Maple Ridge, BC. Private interment to follow in Alberta.
