Obituary of Reta Eileen Hughson

March 30, 1921 – August 31, 2016 A stoic and gentle woman left us on Aug 31st 2016. Reta Hughson, aged 95, slipped away peacefully at Brock Fahrni Pavillion, Vancouver BC to be with Bruce and all those who left before her. Reta will be remembered by those closest to her as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and loyal friend who faithfully contributed to her community and made this world a better place just by being her kind and caring self. In recent years dementia created challenges that she took in stride and with her determined nature she made sure it never managed to rob her of her sense of humour – one of her most endearing personality traits that shone brightly to the very end. Reta’s family wishes to express their gratitude and deep appreciation of the wonderfully dedicated team of caregivers on the 4th floor of Brock Fahrni Pavillion who during the past four years compassionately cared for mom, took a genuine interest in her well being and made her comfort their number one priority. In memory of both our parents, Bruce and Reta Hughson, who made Whonnock their home for 47 years, we have made a donation to the Whonnock Foundation Byrnes Bursary.
