It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the sudden passing of Catherine Louise Hortin (nee Minahan) in Maple Ridge, BC, on 17 October 2022. Cath was born in Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia, on 14 October 1969. She leaves to mourn Kingsley, her husband of 30 years, her parents Peter & Marion Minahan, her brother Stephen (Claus), parents-in-law Alan and Anne, sister-in-law Jennifer (Clive), nephews (Darcy and Brendan) and nieces (Margo and Lily) as well as many loving aunts, uncles and cousins in Australia and the UK.

When in 2001 Kingsley’s work took him to a position in Canada, Cath relished this new adventure of moving half way across the world to Porcupine (Timmins) Ontario.  They eventually moved to BC and settled in Maple Ridge.

Cath had a caring heart for others and thoroughly enjoyed her friends many with whom she kept in touch on Facebook. Her other love were her Pomeranian dogs, usually owning 2 at a time, sometimes 3. She leaves 3 fur-babies, Kona, Marquis and Chestnut who miss her lots.

She loved her Lord Jesus, and was known as a prayer warrior.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Garden Hill Cremation & Funeral Service.

Visitation will be at 4 pm PDT followed by the service at 5 pm PDT, all held at the funeral home, in Maple Ridge, on Friday, November 4th at 5:00 pm. PDT
