Obituary of Christopher Paul Velten
It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher Paul Velten on November 21, 2022. Born April 25, 1972, in Vancouver, BC at St. Paul’s Hospital.
Christopher suffered from a rare disease called Myotonic Dystrophy and fought daily to live a semi-normal life.
He was an accomplished bowler & pool player. He loved cards games, movies, music, nature, trivia games, history & science. He was a generous man and his quick wit always made us laugh. His bravery facing death was incredible. He wasn’t scared and let us know he was ok with it.
A special thank you to his Nursing Team at Maple Ridge Seniors Village who cared for him since April 7, 2021. And the wonderful Doctors & Nurses in ICU at Ridge Meadows Hospital.
Christopher joins his Dad and relatives now and is in a good place at Peace. We love you Chris; you will forever be in our thoughts and in our hearts.
He is survived by his Mom, Wiltrud, Brothers Thomas & Gordon, Sister Heidi (husband Peter), Nephews, Shawn, John, Allen; Nieces Kaylyn, Christine & Heather and Great-Nephew, Azrael & Great-Niece, Jayden
