Obituary of Jean Frazer Cox

Please share a memory of Jean to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Winnipeg Manitoba was a cold and somewhat dull place when on March 24, 1931, things changed. To Thomas & Margaret Barr a cute baby girl, Jean Frazer Barr was born - a little sister for James and Gretta.

The winters were becoming unbearable for the family and within 10 years, they moved to New Westminster and then Burnaby where they resided for many years.

Jean took an interest in her schooling and went on to occupy an important position in a lumber enterprise on Kingsway.

However, important as a business career may be, there was another matter that occupied her attention throughout her early life....it had to do with the spiritual side of living. She realized she needed to be ready to meet God whenever her life would come to a close. Although a good-living person, she still had to have a solid foundation on which to build and rest for eternity. It was in 1953 that she accepted that the Lord Jesus had paid for her sins on the cross of Calvary. What happiness filled her soul!.

On October 19, 1984 she married Cameron Cox and she became a wonderful part of a family of 2 children, Heather & Kevin. Credit goes to her for the loving manner in which she sought to be the mother of these lively teenagers.

It was on March 9, 2023 that God saw fit to take this lovely lady to be forever with Himself. In the last two weeks of her life, her heart suffered severe damage from 2 heart attacks and a life once filled with vigour and purpose came to a close....but she lives on in heaven, the place of endless joy.

She is survived by her loving husband Cameron and children Heather and Kevin. Together we await the time of reunion.

The funeral service for Jean is to be on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 1230 noon at the Fleetwood Gospel Hall, 8725 - 158 Street, Surrey. Interment to be at Surrey Centre Cemetery located at 16670 - 60 Avenue, Surrey at 1400 pm. Following that, there will be a light refreshment provided for all back at 8725 - 158 Street.
