Obituary of Barbara Catherine Mary Anne Seiler

Barb, the epitome of joy, love and light. 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Barbara Seiler (Senger). She will be greatly missed by her husband Joseph, her 3 lovely daughters, Caylen, Cathy & Leslie, her son in laws, Patrik and PK, her 5 grandchildren, Matthew, Annabelle, Zoey, Luke & Chloe and her sisters Shauna, Cheryl, Connie and Patricia.

Barb was born on November 21, 1950 to Norma and John Senger, the first of 9 children in the Senger family, 6 sisters and 2 brothers. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Len and Greg Senger, and her sisters Jackie Morrison and Cathy MacDonald. 

A vibrant soul, Barb was a fiercely independent woman, “a Virago”, and she enjoyed many things. A basketball and volleyball player in high school, a car hop at the Triple X and a motorcycle adventurer. 

A leader with the Girl Guides of Canada for many years, she impacted the lives of many young girls, stretching and helping to shape them into the courageous and independent women they are today.

Continuing to stretch and grow herself, Barb started to explore the world of intuition and energy healing, not only introducing her daughters to this realm, but expanding herself by taking her Crystal Resonance Therapy certification. Her truest calling though, was the drum. She found ultimate joy in the power of the drum. As a Drum Circle Facilitator, she executed her love of bringing people together, engaging in the present moment and bringing joy and happiness to others through this powerful healing tool. Participating in one of her drum circles was always powerful, full of energy and undeniably fun.

One of Barb’s greatest gifts was her love of games. Always up for anything, she invited and included anyone around in her games. From grandchildren to friends and extended family, Barb would play from dawn until dusk. As an avid Bridge player, to a plethora of board games, she wouldn’t slow down until no one was left available to play. As others may have petered out, Barb was always up for one more game.

Barb led a beautiful life and touched the hearts of so many. She was an inspiration and had an impact far beyond what we might have imagined. We know that her touch and her memory will not only live on but continue to be modeled in so many of us. 

We are truly blessed to have had her imbue her gifts, her love and her presence in our lives.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 22nd at 2:00pm at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel - 11765 224th Street, Maple Ridge.
