On the evening of January 15th, 2024 Jane “wifey” passed away peacefully at Ridge Meadows Hospital with family by her side.

Jane was born in Uithoorn, Netherlands on December 22, 1934. After the war Jane and her family (9 siblings) immigrated to Canada in May 1951. Jane married the love of her life, Albert Formosa, in Powell River on September 6th 1958. They shared 65 beautiful years together and were blessed with 4 boys, 4 daughter in laws, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

Jane and Albert loved to travel. They were snowbirds and spent the winters at Lake Havasu in their motorhome where they made many lifelong friends. They also loved spending their time in Malta with family and made a special last trip in May 2023 at the age of 88 and 91. Jane truly lived life to the fullest.

Jane was known as ‘the cat’ after surviving many health challenges and a very long battle with cancer(s). A big thank you to her care team that followed her at B.C. Cancer - Dr. Melosky, Dr. Liu, Dr. Yee and Dr. Little from RMH. She received the best of care right up until her last day.

Jane is survived by her loving husband Albert, children Fred (Terri), Jim (Diane), Larry (Shirley), Brian (Brenda) and Grandchildren Mike (Daisy), Tyler (Alyssa), Derrick (Sam), Carly (Josh), Brianne, Brandon, Kurtis (Tara), Scott, Courtney (Alex), Candace (Matt), Alyssa and Great Grandchildren Lennon and Max and her 4 brothers Gordie, Tom, Jim and Ted. Jane was so proud of her family and will be greatly missed by all of them and her many friends. She impacted so many peoples lives with her strength, positivity, kindness and unconditional love for those around her.

Heaven gained a beautiful angel.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 10:30 am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 22561 121st Avenue, Maple Ridge.
