We were in Europe when we learned of “Bobby’s” passing and we were saddened by that news. The picture you chose to appear in the newspaper made us smile because that is how we remember him; cheerful and bubbly. He always had good things to say about everyone and his ability to tell a story or a joke was almost legendary. As a child, Burke Mountain was our playground for all the cousins who lived in that neck-of-the-woods. Bobby’s love for cars at an early age is another happy memory. To say that Bob will be missed is an understatement. Our kindest regards to Grace.

My memories of Bob are mostly from teen years as our neighbour on Ford Road in Pitt Meadows and fellow MRSS student. I was also very appreciative of when he organized a reunion of friends from that era and area some years ago. It was great to see him and so many others. He hadn’t changed, very friendly and good humoured. Living in Kamloops I’d not seen most of these neighours and friends in our adulthood. From other comments on here I can see that Bob’s qualities carried on throughout his life.
A memory that has stayed with me was from around Grade 10 when we were waiting for the school bus after school in the informal smokers area. It was exam time and Bob must have written a History or Vocabulary test. He asked us what a “galleon” was. Someone told him it was a Spanish sailing ship like Columbus used. He laughed and said that he had answered ” a castrated horse”. (gelding). We all laughed too and it must have created a chuckle in the teacher’s staff room too.
I’m sorry to hear of your family’s great loss. He was a great and funny guy.
