Obituary of Sheilah Evelynn Chequer

CHEQUER, Sheilah Evelynn (Colley)

 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom Sheilah Evelynn Chequer on July 14, 2024 in Maple Ridge, BC. Sheilah was born in Kamloops, BC on June 27, 1955.

 

Sheilah is survived by her loving children Codie and fiancé Allan and Cole and fiancée Myah, sister Karen and brothers Fred, Pat and Michael and their families, as well as step children Natalie and Chad Barney. 

 

Sheilah was a kind, loving and generous woman grounded in her faith. She was devoted to her family and friends and committed to her community. 

 

How many people in this world have it so much easier than our Mom did. How many never have to face half the heartache and hardships she faced. We so often get distracted by insignificant things in life. We focus on our little problems and forget what is truly the most important.

Regardless of everything our Mom went through, she managed to keep her priorities straight. What can be more important than loving and showing your love to your family? Many of us who are blessed with so much forget to be thankful to God; yet somehow Mom kept her faith through all of her trials.

What a magnificent legacy and wonderful example to follow. Keep focused on what is truly important, not only when your life is easy, but when it is difficult too. She will be remembered for all of this as well as her open heart and caring nature, love of animals and sense of humor.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am, September 21, 2024 at South Ridge Fellowship Church, 22756 48 Avenue, Langley. Contact daughter Codie at 778 899 1727 if you are able to attend the service or if you would like a link to the live stream sent to you.
