It is with deep sadness that the family of Raija Karin White (nee Lehtonen) announce her peaceful passing on November 9, 2024 at the age of 77. 

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Raija was known for her loving, kind, generous, fun and adventurous personality. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband David, daughter Tonia, son Keith (Paula) and her granddaughter Ava, along with extended family. Raija was also loved by many friends including her best friend Leila and sister-in-law Hazel.

Raija is predeceased by: her Mother & Father, Senja and Penti and her infant brother Raijo. 

Raija was born on June 11, 1947 in Finland. She moved to Toronto with her parents in her early years which is where she met and married her husband David. They were married on April 20, 1968, sharing 56 years of marriage. Starting a family, she made fond memories and good friends during the years in Ontario. Spending lots of time at the family cottage and making trips to Florida.

The family moved to BC in 1980 where she continued raising her children, worked, had hobbies, travelled and had many new friendships. Gardening club, walking, taking classes and making a house a home for her family is what she loved to do.

Raija and David enjoyed many trips to Mexico in their retirement, sharing sun-filled  times with family and new friends they met there.

She resided in BC until her passing.

The love and support she gave to David, her children and granddaughter will be forever in our hearts and we miss her dearly.
