Edward Vandergrift, 65, died April 3, 2016 in Maple Ridge, BC. With family by his side, he passed away peacefully, ending his struggle with cancer.
Ed was born on January 4, 1951 in Doorn, Netherlands, immigrating to Smithers at the age of six months.
Ed began and ended his career working for Bulkley Valley Wholesale, devoting 29 years of dedicated service to the company and the community.
Ed is survived by his loving wife and two children, Rob and Krista and two granddaughters, Isabella and Alyssa. He is further survived by five siblings Ena, Alida, Mary Ann, Elco and Will. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest brother Larry.
A celebration of Ed’s life will be held May 29th at 1 pm at the Hart House, Deer Lake in Burnaby, B.C.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the BC Cancer Foundation.
