Nick Peter Tataren

June 21, 1946 – December 9, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nick Tataren, age

78, at his home in Maple Ridge, BC after long-fought battle with ALS.

One word to capture Nick’s spirit is love. Nick met the love of his

life, Marnie, in 1962 at St. James Anglican Church, where he was a

server and Marnie sang in the choir. Nick and Marnie were married in

1967 and started putting down their roots. Nick loved his family deeply

and cherished his friendships. Nick was very proud of his family, and he

would take every opportunity to celebrate their milestones and

achievements. Especially if there was an opportunity to dance. Nick was

a dedicated husband, father, papa, and friend.

After a career spanning 40+ years at Pacific Press and climbing the

ranks from paper delivery boy to Circulation Manager, Nick retired in

February 2011 with many life-long friendships. In his golden years, Nick

enjoyed travelling with family and friends, playing golf, gardening,

spending time with loved ones, and catching up with old friends.

Nick is survived by his loving wife Marnie, brother Roger (Susan)

Tataren, children Jason (Alan) Tataren and Lori (Wayne) Haynes, and

grandchildren Madison (Andrew) Thomas and Ryley Haynes.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nick’s memory to the ALS

Society of BC.
