Katlyn Kimberley passed away on March 12, 2016, aged 30. “Katie” was the third daughter of the late D. William Hetherington and Kimberley Pearson and, for most of her life, step-daughter of Ronald Pearson who was “Dad” to her. Katie was born in Saint John, N.B. on Dec 29, 1985 and since 1995 lived in the Coquitlam/Maple Ridge area in B.C. She was a Medical Office Assistant for Doctors’ practices in the area.

Katie had a free spirit and a big heart; she loved the elderly, young children and they loved her back. She was a great animal lover, especially cats. She was quick with a joke, loved making people happy, and on your worst day Katie could always make you laugh.

Katie lived life with intensity and passion, a lesson for us all.

She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her parents and siblings Marie Hanlon (Mike), Ashley Fraser (Cale), Rachael Pearson, Alexander Pearson and Emily Pearson, as well as niece (Carys), nephews (Blake, Cash and William) and her many friends.

Donations may be given in her memory to a charity of choice, or one of the following:

– GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre via VGH/UBC Hospital Foundation (where Katie recovered from her spinal injury)

– Katie’s Place Animal Shelter, Maple Ridge, B.C., Canada

– Canadian Mental Health Association.
