Obituary of Joan Marlene Budiselich

Please share a memory of Joan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
(Joan) Marlene Budiselich Her Lord called her home in a peaceful manner at Holyrood Manor on March 17 2019, at the age of 84. Her life was well lived and she was well loved! Born in North Battleford SK October 25 1934 to Harry & Mae Wright. Her parents as well as her siblings: Harry, Rusty, Clara, Grace, Al, Eileen, & Larry have all predeceased her. Marlene met the love of her life at her parents’ gas station in Fairmont Hot Springs; her and Sam eloped, and were married in Coeur D’alene Idaho on November 27, 1954. They enjoyed a great marriage until Alzheimer’s took Sam ‘home’ 1998. In their 44 years together they lived in Skookumchuck Tata Creek, Canal Flats, Radium Hot Springs, Terrace, and then in 2002 she moved to Maple Ridge where 2 of her kids live. Fiercely independent and extremely resilient, she loved people in her own way. Although a brain aneurism and stroke in 1982, left her with some limitations Marlene lived life large… if you met her, you remembered her. She was a strong, passionate, complicated soul whose confidence lives on in all of us. Marlene loved to play Bingo, watch Pro-Wrestling, and eat Bounty bars. Hopefully you will think of her and smile, whenever you do any of those things. She committed her life to Jesus in the summer of 1990 and was thrilled to have her hubby also proclaim his faith in Christ just a few years later. This is a source of extreme comfort for the family they have left behind (for now). Marlene was proud mother to: Gail (Vic), Larry (Ev), Darcy (Sindy), Becky (Bob), grandmother to: Jennifer, Tracy, Christopher, Carrmen, Amber, Kandice, Shantell, Stephanie, Breanna, Julian and great grandmother to: Ryder, Callie, Brendan, Brooklynn, Orlan, Blayke, Miller, Keating, Mabel, Weston, & Barrett. The family would like to thank Dr. Martin Milewski as well as the staff of Holyrood Manor for their patient and dedicated care of mom over the past several years. As she has now joined Sam in heaven, Marlene’s mortal remains will be interned beside his, in Terrace. A service of remembrance (date TBA) will be held both in Maple Ridge and in Terrace.
