Sorry for your loss. Chad will be missed greatly. We enjoyed all the times having coffee and donuts, “solving the worlds problems”. Chad was a true gentleman with a great sense of humour. He was always willing to help – “chaldu ” and spoke highly of his family whom he loved very much. Praying for you.

I learned of Chad’s passing today and felt compelled to write my thoughts. I knew Chad for most of my life, having been born and raised in Pitt Meadows. Chad sat on council with my Mom, Ruth Campbell (Ouwehand) and Chad and Lu quickly became friends of our family. Chad’s laugh was infectious and his smile genuine. I’ll never forget when he skydived into his own 60th birthday party at the amazement of everyone and utter surprise of Lu. He was a lucky man to have the family he did, and the love of a community. Chad, you will be missed and thought of often. My heartfelt condolences to the entire family.

Lucille,
Someone you know dying always comes prematurely, especially Chad who seemed to be one of the next generation after your father Leung and my mother Sarah. I forget that you and I are of the same generation. Although we interacted remotely, I do remember the dinner in your garden where Chad had mother plant a tree, a thoughtful gesture on your part and a meaningful one for Sarah, Shannon and me. I will be thinking of you Lucille and of the entire clan going back to 1949 when Leung and Art and families left Shanghai and returned to British Columbia. Be well.

It was with great sorrow that I read of the passing of Chad. He was a friend and a political colleague but beyond that he was a mentor to me during our years together on city Council. I remember the year I first ran for Council. We all made grandiose promises but Chad only made one and that was to think. He kept his promise. Diana and I will miss his sense of humour and his grey coveralls but mostly his friendship. Our condoleces to Lucille and his three children of whom he was so proud.

Hi. I grew up not to far from the Whyte’s. I use to babysit for the family. I remember many a good barn dances. My dad John Edmundson and Chad would discuss everything from farming to politics.
May you rest in peace
