Vibrant, forward-thinking, and energetic when we were living in BC at the start of our lives together, Teta Lena (she would not submit to the baba tag with me, her great nephew) will always be dear to our hearts. Teta’s apartment was my base while working in Vancouver in 2002 and it was the launch pad for our (Victoria and my) bicycle trip across Canada together, armed with her famous milechnik and her support for doing such a crazy journey while we had the opportunity to do so. Teta, you have been loved from afar over the ensuing years and we are so lucky to have such wonderful, special memories with you at the start of a relationship that led to marriage and the birth of our two beautiful boys.
