Obituary of Jacqueline “Jackie” Stevens

On the evening of December 27th, 2014, Jacqueline was surrounded by family when she passed away peacefully at Ridge Meadows Hospital in Maple Ridge, BC. Jacqueline was 75 years old at the time of her passing. Born in the city of Baie-Comeau in Quebec on May 28th, 1939, Jaqueline was the third child of Madelaine and Ligori “Lee” Soucy. Jaqueline was preceded in death by Madelaine Soucy (mother), Ligori “Lee” Soucy (father), Brigitte Soucy (stepmother), Germaine Desaulniers (sister), and Alice Richard (daughter). Jaqueline is survived by her husband, Thomas Verner Stevens; siblings, Martin Soucy, Claude Soucy, Violet Elliott, Lucille Hanson, Diane Surette, Raymond Soucy, Jane Taylor, Roger Soucy and Mary Anne Melvin; children, RoseMarie Stevens, Andrew Richard, Benoit Richard, Brenda Yacyshyn, Claude Richard and Tammy Foucher; grandchildren, Laura McLean, Tina Powell, Amy Richard-Christy, Ashley Stevens, Tommy Fairweather, Andrew Tourand-Richard, Holly Fairweather, Brandon Foucher, Hailey Richard and Terra Yacyshyn; and great-grandchildren, Jaydon Powell, Carly McLean, Jocelyn McLean, Eathan Powell and Declan Powell. “She is not lost our dearest love, nor has she traveled far, just stepped inside home’s loveliest room and left the door ajar.” A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday December 31st, 2014 at 11:00am at Garden Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Maple Ridge Cemetery after which we will return to the Garden Hill Funeral Home for a reception. Calling hours will be held the evening prior on Tuesday December 30th at 7:00pm at Garden Hill Funeral Home.
