Jan. 13, 1933 – Oct 25, 2014 Beloved husband and father. Survived by wife Simone (of 49 yrs), children Darlene (Merv) Bray, Sharon Jones, Stephen-Norman Schneider, Nadia Riggs, Eric Schneider, and Jason (Nao) Schneider. 8 grandchildren: Matthew, Aaron, Trina, Jason, Kyle, Brianna, Emma, Noah. 6 great grandchildren: Dacey, Arabella, Ellianna, Kana, Hunter, Eden. Brothers Caesar and Bruno and sisters Ethel, Dorothy, and Helen. And many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sons Frank and Kelly, parents Frank and Eva, brothers Gregory, Hildebrand, and Randolph, and sister Bernice. Les was born in Steen, Sask. and grew up and went to school in Wakaw. He worked for the CPR in BC and the Northern Canada Power Commission and Esso in the NWT. He got his 2nd class Steam Engineer Certificate while in the NWT. Working with Esso took Les and family to Alberta and finally to his dream job in BC. During his time in the North Les enjoyed hunting, cross country skiing, and ski-doing. He was a provincial level curler (NWT & AB), horseshoe player and bowler (BC). After moving South he spent time camping and travelling. Later in life Les loved to read, watch TV, and play cards and dice with family and friends. He loved nothing more than a good conversation and a shared joke. Prayers will be held on Thursday, October 30th at 5:00 pm at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 22587 – 121st Avenue, Maple Ridge. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 31 at 11:00 am also at St. Patrick’s.
