Obituary of Lydia Elizabeth Jenner
Please share a memory of Lydia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
September 21, 1924 – December 21, 2018
It is with heavy hearts and happy memories that we announce the passing of our Mom, Nana, Great Nana and Great-Great Nana who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, but peacefully in her sleep on December 21, 2018.
Lydia was predeceased by her, “Ever Loving,” husband of 56 years, Gordon and their son, David.
Lydia is lovingly remembered by her children, Susanne (Bruce), Elaine (David), Alan (Lil), her grandchildren, Steve, Christina, Michael, Brock, Whitney and Rheegan and 8 great grandchildren with another one on the way. Lydia is also survived by 3 step-grandchildren, Lori, Sheri and Tricia, 5 step-great-grandchildren, 1 step-great-great grandchild and other extended Family.
Lydia was born in Croydon, England and was brought up by her Grandparents after her Mother passed away shortly after giving birth to Lydia. At 14, she left school and started working at Broomfields Bakery where she met our Dad. When World War 2 began, she then worked at a shipping company where they built ships to aid in the war. Our Dad was stationed in Canada during World War 2 for 2 1/2 years and then returned to England to marry our Mom in 1943 and complete his service in the RAF until the end of the war. He had fallen in love with Canada and our family immigrated to Vancouver in 1957. Lydia worked at the Hudson Bay Company for 13 years, but mostly dedicated her life to her Family. She was a loving and caring Wife, Mother, Nana, Great Nana and Great-Great Nana.
Our Family would like to thank all the wonderful Staff at Royal Arch Masonic Home and Mom’s companion, Mary Agbayani for all the loving and supportive care Lydia received while at the facility. She loved all of you.
Our Family takes great comfort in knowing that our Mom is now reunited with our Dad and Brother.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Garden Hill Funeral Home 11765 – 224th St. Maple Ridge on January 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM followed by an Interment Ceremony at the Port Coquitlam Cemetery 4150 Oxford St. Coquitlam.
