Obituary of Nyles Philpott

Please share a memory of Nyles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to my dear brother Nyles. Born and raised in West Van, then North Van, he moved up to our town of Hope 15 years ago. He was a kind, gentle and very intelligent man, always with stories and a quick wit. If he made you laugh that is all he really wanted from all those he encountered on his daily outings. He loved his volunteer work especially at the book store with Nadine and also Nathaniel. He later enjoyed the Hope Info Centre. I think Brian, Tracy and Helen kept him on his toes! He was an avid photographer and a huge collector of EVERYTHING!! (ha ha) He will be sorely missed; Nyles had a huge home support family, Kathi – “Kathryn the Great”, Cindy, Missy, Noelle, Velma, Christon and Meghan just to name a few. A HUGE thank you to them and Doc Green and staff, all home support staff, Abby, ICU staff and ambulance attendants that helped him on several occasions over the last few years. Nyles leave behind his sister Heather (Dan) and Alana, Colin and Liza and their families, Shaune (a 55 plus year friendship) and Kenny you both are amazing friends: loyal to my brother and will always be part of our family, THANK YOU. Nyles was predeceased by his sister Val (recently) and his Mom and Dad back in ’86 and ’96. A Celebration of his life will be held at Globe International Cuisine Restaurant, 821 6th Ave, Unit B, Hope, BC, on June 27, 2018 from 2 – 4 pm. Please come out and share your stories. His favorite expressions were “Bite me”, “Merry Christmas” when you came to his front door, and if you phoned him you’ll likely get “Jesus loves you”. Carry this tradition on, if you will, in memory of my brother.
