I have had the great pleasure of knowing
Mr. Franks. He was a wonderful man who loved to engage in conversation and was passionate about his beliefs. He always made me feel comfortable and welcome in his home and I have fond memories of my visits.
Mrs. Franks, please remember in these times of sorrow, family and friends are here to comfort and support you.
Our hope is your cherished memories will remain in your heart forever.
Our deepest condolences and
heartfelt sympathy.
With Love,
May, Gary & Trevor

Gary and Louise (Suzanne) Kenny & family posted a condolence

Shortly after mom died (Moira Suzanne), Uncle Wally began periodic phone calls to us in California. He would check up on the family’s well being, then he would share his views about many subjects. I loved his calls because the essence of the calls were to let me know that we are all part of one big family and we care about each other. His thoughtfulness will always be treasured. Of course, true to his nature, he told me my job in the U.S. was to teach elocution lessons to the people here, as the Americans are good people, but their articulation leaves a lot to be desired!
Thank you Uncle Wally for your service to the nation in the Second World War, thank you to your commitment to your family, and thank you for your tireless spirit to do the right thing.
To Jeanette and his children: we send our deepest sympathy and keep in mind, he is at peace and probably teaching elocution lessons to the angels!
Sincerely, Gary and Louise (Suzanne) Kenny and children, Jon-Emile Kenny, MD and Ted Kenny.

Uncle Wally’s house was always our destination when our family was making a trek into the big city of Vancouver. We were always guaranteed to have something to drink when we arrived and I remember the orange/pineapple juice blend like it was yesterday. His home was a wonderland of nooks and crannies filled with wondrous possessions that piqued a young boys curiosity and fantasy. It was a magical emporium of models, notions, souvenirs, books and collectibles, including a very excited spider monkey named Chiko.
In those days, uncle Wally was larger than life to me, with his perfect articulation of certain words, or when he would burst into a song or discussing some topic he was passionate about with my mom and dad.
I wished I had more interaction with him in his later years, but the memories I do have of him, are special and will always have a place to be fondly remembered.
Uncle Wally, you may be gone from our presence now, but like the Beta Video recorders you had once praised, you have left us many High Quality memories for all of us to revisit and enjoy.
Speed and God be with you on your journey. Until we meet again.
Bruno Destradi, Your nephew.
