Born on November 29th 1944, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 8th 2014 in Vancouver at the age of 69. Nikitas was born in Agios Ioannis, Greece to Kosta and Haido Nicolaou. At the age of 25, he immigrated to Vancouver where soon after he met his loving wife and best friend, Irene. In addition to his wife, Nikitas is survived by his daughter Paulette, sons Costa and George, and his grandchildren Nicholas and Sophia-Irene. Nikitas worked as a painter and general contractor. He was an active member of his community and church, which included serving on the Board of Directors for the Hellenic Canadian Congress of BC, the Hellenic Community of Vancouver, and the Lacons Association of BC. Nikitas is also survived by his sister Georgia, as well as his nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his brother Christos and his sister Anna, as well as his parents Kosta and Haido. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses that provided quality care, help and support to Nikitas. Funeral Services to be held on Thursday, March 13th 2014 at 11:00am, also at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby BC.
