Dick, I have had the pie tin Marnie gave us her wonderful baked goods on sitting here in the kitchen waiting for inspiration to fill it and return it. Our time with her was so brief. Bill and I were looking forward to many more visits and sharing life and laughter here on N. Chimayo. We were stunned when Heather told us the sad, sad news. Please know we will keep you in our prayers as you go through these next rough weeks. Our sincere sympathy to you and your family.

Dick – We were deeply saddened to hear of Marnie’s passing, she was a lovely person inside and out. We remember seeing you folks at the home show last year. I had a great chat with Marnie (even though it was really loud!) and I was impressed by how sunny and upbeat she was despite all the health challenges she’d been through in the past year or so. It would have been easy for her to just give up, but she didn’t. She told me that every day she got up and put her make-up on and got ready to face the world and how important looking good was to her well being, even on the days when it was a bit of a struggle to do so. I marvelled at her ability to do this because (as a nurse), I know how hard it is and how determined people have to be to carry on. She was warm, friendly, I never saw her without a smile on her face – she will be sorely missed. Our deepest sympathies to you and your family at this difficult time.

As we travel through life it is seldom we meet a person who possessed the personality and goodness that Marnie did. We feel so privileged to have been able to share a part of her life with her. Marnie’s kindness has touched the lives of so many and hopefully we have become better people because of that. May all your memories of the good times together help you through this difficult time. All our love Rick and Aileen Fox

Thank you all so much for your love and support for my family during this difficult time. My grandma was the most generous and caring person I know always putting everyone before herself. Whether it was making people feel welcome, sending cards for any occasion or filling your belly with all her baked goods. Her spirit is among all of us, her kindness and acceptance that she taught us will live on. Her legacy will never be forgotten and we will teach our kids the values she had and make sure they know who their great grandma Marnie was. She is my guardian angel now watching out for us. I love you so much grandma. xoxoxo
