Dear Ingrid ,Dorothy and family, I’m so sorry to hear of your mama’s passing . It brought back so many happy memories from our childhood, i think we became friends in grade 2 or 3 , and i remember your parents well. Your mother was so kind and gracious . I was so in awe of the toys and decor in your home- not like i had from the Sears catalogue , but home made and intriguing . Your mom had always just baked something , and always offered refreshments to whomever came to her home . She was very hospitable and such a happy mom . Your dad would walk you 2 girls to our home every halloween for fireworks and he , was also such a nice man . I’m very sorry for your loss and i’ve thought of you often over the years , please contact me so we can get together . Sincerely , your oldest friend , Shell (Hagan) 604 468 72 48 ( still in poco !!)

As a former Pastor of The Salvation Army in New Westminster I was overjoyed to meet Margaret, Jerry, and their two lovely daughters as they settled into our church and began to worship with us. I found Margaret to be a cheerful lady with a quiet smile and a deep personal faith in God. Together as a family they entered into the life of our congregation and became dedicated workers.
I pay tribute to Margaret’s memory today and I thank God for the sacred influence she had on her family, her church family, and those who were the recipients of her faithful and dedicated service.
May God bless you Ingrid and Jay, Dorothy and Jeff, and the grandchildren in these days of readjustment.
With fond memory and deep affection.

My memory goes back a long time when your folks arrived in New Westminster with their 2 daughters to start a new life. Attending the New Westminster Salvation Army is where we first met this Dutch family….both faithful soldiers in their commitment to the gospel. Your Mom will be missed.
My condolences to all the family members…..Margaret Jones.
