Elouise and I shared an apartment together when we both worked as teachers in Prince George. I was shocked to see (on a SelfDesign newsletter) that she had passed away so young. I remember her as being a very caring and humble person, as well as smart and practical. I’m sure her family will feel her loss greatly. We are praying for you.

I send my deepest condolences to you and her family. She was my angel and even though sounds selfish I still wish you are here on Earth . You have been a mom to me, when I was and am still a newbie.
You always had time to encourage me on the home learning journey . I was dry spirit at the group New Life but your stories with ups and downs had been chocolates on my trail ; you encouraged me when I had just begun and that will stay with me now when I am on downs and forever. She asked me to believe and pray and I wish to encourage you and her family with the same. Keep in mind as Elouise said: “that God has a plan for all of us and all the pain is for make us strong” . I deal with this fear of losing my love ones constant ,even tough was and is out of selfish, it is a long journey ahead and there will be many hills up ahead ,but God KNOWS our hearts and have plans not to destroy us but to prosper us . Our family we will walk with you and pray for your heart to mend and for God’s peace to surround you all; to give you strength and faith that she is watching us.

Elouise was a big part of our Village of Conversations in SelfDesign Distance Learning Community. She had a bright kindness to her posts and was always willing to help get others to enjoy a cup of tea and connect together with ideas to encourage each other even just by posting in a forum. She was one of those parents I felt I could always count on to come up with something cool to talk about and fun to share with other parents and learners from around our province. Even online, and having never met her personally, I can certainly say she touched my heart, and I want you to know I am thinking of you guys as you go through this together.

To Michael, Tanner, and family,
I have only known Elouise since September, but I enjoyed our weekly reflections, emails and phone chats about Tanner’s learning with SelfDesign. I admired Elouise’s deep love of home learning, her willingness to help other home learning families, her dedication to following the passions and curiosities of her children, and the way in which she provided a loving, nurturing and supportive environment for her chidlren to reach their dreams. I know she will be truly missed.

Michael, Tanner, Nicolas and Amanda,
I am so sorry for your loss. Elouise was a wonderful humanitarian and I so appreciated how she shared herself with those less fortunate.
I greatly admired El for her commitment to making the best educational choices for her family. She generously shared her insights and knowledge within our SelfDesign family, and encouraged so many who were just starting out on the home learning journey.
I felt a very special bond with her on both a personal and professional level. Please accept my condolences, and know that we at SelfDesign will be working together to support you in any way we can.

I have many sweet memories of Elouise. She lived in my basement suite in Prince George for a time when she was a newly minted teacher and we had many excellent conversations peppered with lots of laughter. I can still see the tray of sushi rolls she made one time and her efforts to get me to try them. She was one of the first people I knew that had her own personal computer and I was duly impressed. I also helped out as a parent teacher in her class at Prince George Academy. Elouise was a great friend and support to my daughter Shannon. I was very happy to reconnect with her on Facebook and her almost daily birthday greetings to a very large circle of friends and family are a testament to her big heart and her desire to make sure people knew she loved them and was thinking of them. She radiated joy and sunshine like few people I have ever met.
My heartfelt condolences to Michael and her dear children as well as her mother and sisters.
