I am a demo lady & I worked at the Safeway deli yesterday. I am so sorry she is gone. I always chatted with her about her travelling adventures and how happy she was to settle in Pitt Meadows with the love of her life and her Aussie dog…..I could never remember her name so when I saw her I always said HI SMILEY LADY…!!!! She was always smiling…..I will miss her!!!!!

I met Kyla the same way a lot of people have through the Deli at Safeway. I will always treasure the memories of our little talks and greetings when I came into the Store. My deepest condolences to Kyla’s family and her loved one Chris.

I met Kyla at the Maple ridge Safeway, she was a amazing lady with lots of laughter and positive comments. She had a smile that could light up the whole room. When I heard of her passing I was speechless and shocked. She was awesome to work with and will truly be missed.
To her family: I am deeply sorry for your loss, my heart is with you, she has touched so many people’s lives she will never be forgotten.

It’s impossible to understand why such a beautiful, young, vibrant, loving person is suddenly gone? So full of life and personality! With that cheeky twinkle in her eyes and a smile that lit up the most miserable of days! Words cannot convey how sorry I feel for everyone who was lucky enough to know Kyla, feel one of her hugs, be the receiver of one of her beautiful smiles.
It was a joy to know you Kyla! I won’t forget you and I’m grateful for all the days you were in my life. XXOO

I didn’t know Kyla like most of these other people did, but to me she was a ray of sunshine that always stayed bright. I met Kyla through one of my shopping trips to Safeway several years ago. I noticed one day I went in and se wasn’t there so I inquired to one of the other Deli girls and they said she was at another Store. She was gone from Pitt Meadows for awhile, and then went back one day and there she was I was so happy to see her that I gave her a hug, we talked a bit, and each time we seen each other we would chat a bit and have a hug and be on our way. Kyla I was very saddened by the news of your passing. I will always remember your cheerful and welcoming smile. RIP Ray of Sunshine.

Gone is an Earths Angel , too soon Kyla! I will miss her terribly . She has been a support person to me for the last 7 years! A hug or a how ya doing was always how she greeted me! I had a request once about a breakfast sandwich ! She said she would make what ever I wanted happen:) She laughed with her mouth open a bit and said in 24 years she had never had such a request :)) For me she made it happen. That was just her way! I wish I could have been there today to support your family! Less than a week ago we attended a memorial for a dear friends 27 year old son! I was at Safeway having a coffee before I had to go. Gathering my strength not knowing that all the girls at Safeway knew but didn’t tell me because they understood I was grieving for another! My deepest sympathies to you entire family! I will miss her and going back to the store will be one of the most painful empty feelings I will have! Kyla bless your sweet heart I will miss you. Rest in Peace you are a beautiful soul !

Dear Shirley, Chris, Kristy family and friends
I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Kyla.
I remember her as a bright, sunny, friendly girl …living 2 doors from my parents farm. Of course she was much younger than most of us but my sister Shirley remembers babysitting her.
As an adult I would see her at Safeway – she was always laughing and engaging her customers.
My most heartfelt condolences to all of you.

Kyla was my best friend in grade 2 at Pitt Meadows Elementary. I moved away the following year. She was a sweetheart. I used to run into her at Safeway the odd time after almost 20 years had passed and she remembered me and we caught up like we were still as close as ever. It was so refreshing. When I heard of her death my heart broke. She was so young, so much life. I’m so sorry for the family and loves of Kyla. It is a loss for everyone that knew her. Rest in peace Kyla.

My deepest, heartfelt sympathy to Kyla’s family and close friends. I have many found memories of Kyla when I worked along side her during our Safeway Lifestyles renovations. She was so much fun to work with even during some of the most stressful times when we were under the wire, exhausted and working crazy overtime. I looked forward to seeing her smiling beautiful face each day:) She had a fantastic sense of humour and was amazing at her job. I looked up to her and wanted to be like her. I will miss hearing her on our Monday conference calls when she always sounded like she had it all together. I totally admired that about her. So blessed to have crossed paths with such a vibrant lovely soul. My thoughts and prayers are with the many staff at her store. I dont know how they will be able to go there with her gone
