To Mrs. Bain, Deirdre and siblings David and Kirsty,
My sincerest condolences on the passing of Mr. Bain. I read his obituary in the newspaper last weekend. Even though it has been many years since Deirdre and I have been in touch, I still remember the generosity and warm welcome that I always received when I visited her family home in Thornhill. My thoughts are with you Deirdre and the entire Bain family,
With love,
Angie (friend from university)

Dear Sheila: I happened upon Ian’s obit quite by chance. Although you and I worked alongside one another for just a year, ‘way back’ during those ‘ACA on Bay’ days, I remember that you spoke of Ian often and I know you were close. My sincere sympathy. Hugs, Sue (Smith)

On behalf of everyone at Easter Seals Ontario, I’d like to express my sincerest condolences to members of Ian’s family and his friends. We have a current long-serving staff member who fondly remembers Ian as a very kind man and someone who cared deeply about the services and programs needed by children with physical disabilities and their families.
We are grateful for his work as a champion of children and youth with physical disabilities and for his service to Easter Seals Ontario, which dates back to the 1950’s through to 1988, when he retired from the organization.
Even after retiring, Ian continued to stay involved as a volunteer and left a lasting legacy to the organization when he organized a group of volunteers to help write a detailed history of Easter Seals Ontario for the occasion of its 75th anniversary in 1997, a document we continue to refer to even today.
Sincere regards,
Carol Lloyd
President & CEO
Easter Seals Ontario

It was such a privilege to work with Ian on the Rotary District Foundation committee in Toronto during the 1980’s . This was a time of education for Rotarian’s of the important of the Foundation and its far reach into many poor countries . Ian contribution to this was substantial and played a large part in growing the World Foundation as major World Foundation . He used to give of his time tirelessly . There were many occasions when he went to Rotary clubs across the District promoting this work plus part of presentations at the annual District Conferences . During this time the Foundation took on the work of being the leader in the irradiation of Polio which should occur in the next 5 years. Happy memories of a wonderful caring man
