Devoted grandfather of Michael, Kym, Jonathan, Tyra and Alanna. Loving great grand”pa” to Everly. Brother to Moyna, Sheila and the late George. Ian served in the RCAF 1942-1945 as a pilot in Canada and the UK. Post war he attended Carleton College Ottawa (BA) and U of T (MSW). Ian’s social work career involved field work in Northern Ontario with the Childrens Aid Society and as an inspector in the Social Welfare Department of the Ontario Government. He received an appointment to the Government of Hong Kong as Assistant Director of Social Welfare. It was here he developed an insatiable appetite for travel, Asian art, and Chinese food. On return to Canada and until his retirement Ian was Executive Director of the Ontario Easter Seal Society. He was an active member of the Rotary Club of both Toronto (Royal York) and Vaughn and an honorary member of the Variety Club. Ian was past President of the Vancouver Air Crew Association. For his many years of community service Ian received numerous citations, plaques and medals. He was Honored to be recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow. Ian will be remembered for his sense of humour, his gift of writing and public speaking, his integrity and values, his principles of fairness, forgiveness and equality and his lifelong commitment to the empowerment of those less fortunate. No service by request but in remembering Ian and his life well lived, be kind to one another. Contact information:
