Alf Kiilerich Obituary

Kiilerich, Alf Rudolf Benthin

July 15, 1933 - November 16, 2023

Alfie passed away peacefully at home with his loving spouse of 64 years by his side.

Alf was born in Broerup, Denmark, the middle child of five.   A childhood illness left him with a physical disability that spurred his wanderlust mindset.  This led him to study watchmaking at age 14 for 5 years, after which he became a master of horology affording him the honour of working on Copenhagen’s world clock.  At age 23, he met Birgit, but they were to be separated by his immigration to BC, where he started his little “clock shop”.  Two years later, he sent a telegram proposal to Birgit.  This dynamic couple made a safe loving home for their daughters, Linda and Nancy (Blake) and later welcomed with excitement their grandchildren Alex (the girl in the basement), Nick (his favourite shop partner), and Clara (his retirement buddy).  Alfie was a committed member of the Alouette Power Squadron and Rotary Club for 40 years.  Alfie loved his family, his places on the river, a good joke, and his community.  There you will be by the river, we look forward to meeting you there.

Celebration of Life to be held on November 28th, 2023 at 1pm at Meadow Gardens Golf Club, 19675 Meadow Gardens Way, Pitt Meadows.

In lieu of flowers please donate to Parkinson’s research, your community, or a charity of your choice.
