Wendy was an amazing person, she was so special to my family.
My son would always go to her to say hi or to ask for help when he needed someone and she would always be happy and willing to help him through whatever he needed help with & always said “Hi Dorian”.
I was a noon hour supervisor at Kanaka for years & she kept telling me to become an EA & how good I would be at it, I took the course and became an EA. When I finished the course she told me how proud she was of me and told me to look into the teaching program. She motivated me to do things I never thought I could.
She will be missed by so many. I will always remember her beautiful smile, her kind heart & the level of care she had for everyone at Kanaka.
Condolences to the family. xo
Love the Pollard-Douglas Family.

We are so grateful that our son had the opportunity to be cared for by Mrs. Birnie. In our son's words, what he loved most about her was her kindness. She was always a warm, comforting presence for him, and all of the children she supported and cared deeply for at Kanaka Creek. She will always be in our hearts. Our sincerest condolences to her family

Wendy was an incredible beacon of light, her gentle spirit paired with a courageous heart set her apart. She spread laughter and optimism in every conversation, consistently lifting spirits even on the toughest days. I remember the times we woud walk in the hallway together sharing laughs to get through the day... Her thoughtfulness extended beyond work hours, cheering me on during my health recovery was testament to her selfless nature. Staying in touch with me when I only knew her for 4 months....Remembering Wendy leaves a profound sense of loss yet gratitude to have crossed paths with such an amazing soul. May her love and positivity bring comfort to her family at this challenging time. With light and love-Tazmin Manji
