Obituary of Wendy Lea Birnie

Wendy Lea Birnie (nee Davey) on June 2, of Maple Ridge, BC. Survived by three dearly loved sons Rob (Lisa), Dave (Taira) of Maple Ridge and Mike of Austin Texas. Missed forever by her precious grandkids Kylie, Dana, Brooke, Bree and Will. Wendy was predeceased by the love of her life, Bob (2005) and her brother Bill Davey. Also survived by sisters Pat Bevan and Merrilee Davey.

Wendy grew up in Richmond as a fun-loving young person with many friends and travelled the world living for a time in both the Bahamas and Luxembourg. She and Bob Birnie were an instant perfect match and travel became many fun trips to Disneyland, camping adventures and Hawaii.

She was an active volunteer at her sons` schools and eventually became an education assistant. In her 30-year career she worked long terms at both Riverside and Kanaka schools and was still working at Kanaka at the time of her death. Wendy was a very joyful and hard-working person who loved her work with children, Christmas, Disneyland, gardening, camping and spending as much time as possible with her sons, daughters-in-law and especially her grandkids. No formal service at her request but hug a kid who needs it in her honour.
