Obituary of Richard Stanley Wojtowicz
Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Richard “Ricky” Stan Wojtowicz a cherished husband, father, son, grandson, brother, and friend. Born on May 7th, 1972, in Thunder Bay, Ontario to Richard “Senior” Wojtowicz and Donna Stepler.
Rick was an avid golfer, angler, nature lover and enthusiastic of all thing sports, a passion he shared with those close to him. His sense of humor was unmatched, you could find him at home relaxing watching Joe Rogan and Tony Hinchcliffe… he loved comedy and watching a good roast. His infectious laugh left an impression on everyone he met and will be forever missed. Sundays were football days that were shared with his best friend, his father, Senior. Rick loved music, and keeping his vehicles pristine, he looked out for those he loved and fiercely protected them, he had a huge heart.
Twenty years ago, Rick met his soul mate and the love of his life, Marla. He was a loving stepfather to Taylor, Taryn (Cody) and Jeremy (Shawna), grandfather to Ava, Avery and Charlie, and the ultimate dog dad to Peppa, whom he loved and spoiled so much and gifted to Marla 6 years ago for Christmas.
He was predeceased by his loving Grandparents, Aunt, Uncle and cousin in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Rick is survived by his father Richard and stepmother Sandy, his mother Donna Stepler, stepsiblings Robbie (Jennifer), Wendy and Sean (Jacquie) and his mother-in-law Marilyn. His nieces Samantha, Avia, and Josephine; nephews Parker and Eden; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Rick was surrounded by a community of friends who held a special place in his heart and whom he loved and respected deeply. He was involved with the Chehalis fish hatchery years ago and recently playing the links at Swaneset Bay Resort and Country Club. His career spanning 28 years at Cargill Terminal, North Vancouver was a tremendous source of pride for him, he worked hard earning him promotions over the years, and he was grateful for the many friendships he made there and around the port of Vancouver.
A celebration honoring Rick’s life will be held at 22222 Lougheed Hwy., Maple Ridge, BC, The Haney Public House (age restriction of 19 up) on Saturday, November 23 beginning at noon to 15:00 hours. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request donations to the Steelhead Society of BC & the BCSPCA in honor of Rick’s memory.
Please light a candle in Rick’s memory….
