Obituary of James Adams

Swan-e-set James Adams (Jimmie) It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Jimmie (James) Adams Sr. on Monday evening, of June 4th, 2018. Jimmie was born on November 20, 1942 in Pitt Meadows, BC. Jimmie is survived by his loving wife June, sons Ron (Moira) and Wally, Daughter Loni (Dave), sisters Donna and Bonnie and many grandchildren, great grand children, nieces and nephews. He is reunited with his sons John, James Jr., and his parents John and Doris Adams. Living on Katzie First Nation all his life, Jimmie will be remembered for his sense of humour, his Adams laugh, and especially for his expertise on the Fraser river gillnet fishing the salmon and eulachons year round. Jimmie enjoyed being apart the Katzie community organizations and activities through politics and education. Jimmie was very welcoming to many school districts to a visit to Swan-e-set longhouse to experience a Coastal First Nation culture. He lived an eventful life to the fullest and will be missed dearly by his family, friends and Katzie elders group. Monday June 11th 7:00PM Prayers service will be held at Swan-e-set Longhouse at 19761 Wharf Street, Pitt Meadows B.C. Tuesday June 12th 10:00AM Funeral service will be held at Swan-e-set Longhouse Internment to follow at the Katzie Cemetery 203rd Street. Maple Ridge 1:00PM Luncheon at Katzie Health and Community Centre at 19700 Salish Road
